Sweden has been represented at the Eurovision Song Contest 64 times since making its debut in 1958, missing only three contests since then (1964, 1970, and 1976). The current Swedish participating broadcaster in the contest is Sveriges Television (SVT), which select its entrant through the national competition Melodifestivalen. Sweden has hosted the contest seven times: three times in Stockholm (1975, 2000, 2016), three times in Malmö (1992, 2013, 2024) and one time in Gothenburg (1985).
