Farmers talk
Film theory is a set of scholarly approaches within the academic discipline of film or cinema studies that began in the 1920s by questioning the formal essential attributes of motion pictures; and that now provides conceptual frameworks for understanding film's relationship to reality, the other arts, individual viewers, and society at large

Main causes of the decline
Experts attribute the decline to a combination of political, economic and procedural factors:
Political sentiment and rhetoric: President Trump's return and his "America First" policy, including sharp rhetoric towards allies such as Canada, has led to a negative perception among potential travelers.
Strict border and visa rules: New policies, such as a "visa integrity fee" of $250 (which makes the total cost of some visas up to $442) and stricter controls of social media profiles, create barriers.
Economic pressure: A strong US dollar makes travel to the US more expensive compared to alternative destinations.
Safety concerns: Incidents involving tourists being held at the border and travel warnings from other countries about political stability have deterred travelers.

Happy Holdiday (making of)
Apple has launched their official 2025 holiday advertisement for the season. This years commercial comes in at 2 minutes and features two friends taking a snowy hike, one of whom drops their iPhone into the snow, which is soon picked up by a forest creature, who proceeds to gather even more forest creatures to use the iPhone and stage a sing-and-dance. It’s goofy and fun, and all of the various animals are puppets, giving it sort of a Jim Henson vibe.
The holiday ad is called “A Critter Carol”, with a tagline “This holiday, remember that friendship is a gift”, and the entire commercial was shot on an iPhone 17 Pro (which is also the same iPhone that drops into the snow).

Film editing is both a creative and a technical part of the post-production process of filmmaking. The term is derived from the traditional process of working with film which increasingly involves the use of digital technology. When putting together some sort of video composition, typically, one would need a collection of shots and footages that vary from one another. The act of adjusting the shots someone has already taken, and turning them into something new is known as film editing

A flashforward is a scene that temporarily takes the narrative forward in time from the current point of the story in literature, film, television and other media. Flashforwards are often used to represent events expected, projected, or imagined to occur in the future. They may also reveal significant parts of the story that have not yet occurred, but soon will in greater detail. It is similar to foreshadowing, in which future events are not shown but rather implicitly hinted at. It is also similar to an ellipsis, which takes the narrative forward and is intended to skim over boring or uninteresting details, for example the aging of a character. It is primarily a postmodern narrative device, named by analogy to the more traditional flashback, which reveals events that occurred in the past.

Most Beautiful Cinema
In 1921, Abraham Tuschinski opened the Tuschinski theatre after two years of construction. The original clothing maker from Poland was on his way to the United States in 1904, but eventually stayed in Rotterdam, where he opened several cinemas. In 1916, together with his brothers-in-law Herman Gerschtanowitz and Hermann Ehrlich, he wanted to start something special in Amsterdam.
"Amsterdam has many theatres, but if I build one, it should far surpass all others. Grandiose as a temple and beautiful as a palace, a theatre that is unparalleled in Europe, and will make even the pampered Amsterdam audience puff with admiration." - Abraham Tuschinski

Champagne: the movie
Dutch cinema often combines understated realism with offbeat humor, tackling moral ambiguity and social change. It balances intimate storytelling with bold, sometimes provocative, visual styles. Dutch films combine art-house sensibility with grounded storytelling, reflecting the country's open, yet quietly complex culture.

Live action is a form of cinematography or videography that uses photography instead of animation. Some works combine live action with animation to create a live-action animated feature film. Live action is used to define film, video games or similar visual media.
Photorealistic animation, particularly modern computer animation, is sometimes erroneously described as "live action", as in the case of some media reports about Disney's The Lion King (2019 remake). According to the Cambridge English Dictionary, live action involves "real people or animals, not models, or images that are drawn, or produced by computer"

Wes Anderson
During childhood, Anderson also began writing plays and making super-8 movies.
What sets Anderson apart are his playful camera techniques and use of symmetry. This goes hand in hand with his storytelling techniques, which make his stories distinctive, illustrate the tone, and provide subtle glimpses into his characters. A few of his unique style shots are:
The Symmetrical Frame – Wes Anderson always uses symmetrical framing. If you were to draw a line down the middle of his frame, whatever is on the right side of the screen would also be on the left.
Whip Pans & Tilts – He always uses these quick movements to transition from scene to scene or from character to character.
The Tracking Shot – You often see the camera moving along with the characters. This is often a dolly shot, making it appear as if you are walking alongside the character.
Extreme Bird's Eye View – a view from above of a specific subject. Anderson uses this when he wants to highlight something in his film. These are usually objects that are important or that he wants you to remember.
