Home videos have had a place on TV since the early nineties. It all started in Japan. A popular studio program from Tokyo broadcast a few viewer-made videos in every episode. The funniest one was rewarded with a prize.
American program maker Vin Di Bona saw the potential for a show. And so America's Funniest Home Videos was born, starring Full House actor Bob Saget.
