Burgos Spain

Burgos is located in the Castile-Leon region, in the middle of the fertile North Castilian plateau (900 m altitude), on both sides of the Río Arlanzón, which divides the city in two. No fewer than 8 bridges connect the city! The first bridge was built in 1200 for pilgrims to Santiago de Compostela. To the east of the city lies the natural beauty of the Sierra de la Demanda. To the west of the city is the famous Las Huelgas monastery (see below under history), with which the city forms a fundamental connection on the Pilgrims' Route

Nostalgia: early sound

2000: Introduction of the USB stick, with the first version containing 8 MB of memory. The MP3 player makes its debut. This effectively renders the physical audio medium obsolete, as the music is stored within the device itself rather than on a separate audio medium. 2001: Apple launches the first iPod media player. These feature a hard drive and can store much more data than the MP3 players of that era. 2006: Sony releases the last MiniDisc device to date. 2008: Sony and EMI announce they will cease production of CD singles in the coming year.
The Future Because the music industry was late in realizing that the future of the audio medium lies in downloading or streaming music, it has suffered significant losses and fallen behind in recent years. MP3 files, in particular, are widely available on the internet. It is expected that in the coming years, the physical audio medium as we know it today will be further displaced by these online technologies.

Film theory is a set of scholarly approaches within the academic discipline of film or cinema studies that began in the 1920s by questioning the formal essential attributes of motion pictures; and that now provides conceptual frameworks for understanding film's relationship to reality, the other arts, individual viewers, and society at large

Dutch Light

'HOLLANDS LICHT is a documentary film about myth and reality of Dutch light. A film about light that has become famous thanks to painting. This can be found in the painted landscapes of painters such as Van Goyen and Van Ruisdael, in interiors and still lifes by Vermeer, Saenredam and Heda, and later in the work of artists such as Weissenbruch, Roelofs, Gabriël and Mondriaan. The myth is deeply rooted and wants light and perception to be the basis of a visual culture that is said to have emerged in the 17th century. But according to the German artist Joseph Beuys, that culture of looking would have come to an end in the middle of the 20th century. But is it????.

A close-up or closeup in filmmaking, television production, still photography, and the comic strip medium is a type of shot that tightly frames a person or object. Close-ups are one of the standard shots used regularly with medium and long shots (cinematic techniques). Close-ups display the most detail, but they do not include the broader scene. Moving toward or away from a close-up is a common type of zooming. A close up is taken from head to neck, giving the viewer a detailed view of the subject's face.

Main causes of the decline Experts attribute the decline to a combination of political, economic and procedural factors: Political sentiment and rhetoric: President Trump's return and his "America First" policy, including sharp rhetoric towards allies such as Canada, has led to a negative perception among potential travelers.
Strict border and visa rules: New policies, such as a "visa integrity fee" of $250 (which makes the total cost of some visas up to $442) and stricter controls of social media profiles, create barriers.
Economic pressure: A strong US dollar makes travel to the US more expensive compared to alternative destinations. Safety concerns: Incidents involving tourists being held at the border and travel warnings from other countries about political stability have deterred travelers.

Happy Holdiday (making of)

Apple has launched their official 2025 holiday advertisement for the season. This years commercial comes in at 2 minutes and features two friends taking a snowy hike, one of whom drops their iPhone into the snow, which is soon picked up by a forest creature, who proceeds to gather even more forest creatures to use the iPhone and stage a sing-and-dance. It’s goofy and fun, and all of the various animals are puppets, giving it sort of a Jim Henson vibe. The holiday ad is called “A Critter Carol”, with a tagline “This holiday, remember that friendship is a gift”, and the entire commercial was shot on an iPhone 17 Pro (which is also the same iPhone that drops into the snow).

Film editing is both a creative and a technical part of the post-production process of filmmaking. The term is derived from the traditional process of working with film which increasingly involves the use of digital technology. When putting together some sort of video composition, typically, one would need a collection of shots and footages that vary from one another. The act of adjusting the shots someone has already taken, and turning them into something new is known as film editing

A flashforward is a scene that temporarily takes the narrative forward in time from the current point of the story in literature, film, television and other media. Flashforwards are often used to represent events expected, projected, or imagined to occur in the future. They may also reveal significant parts of the story that have not yet occurred, but soon will in greater detail. It is similar to foreshadowing, in which future events are not shown but rather implicitly hinted at. It is also similar to an ellipsis, which takes the narrative forward and is intended to skim over boring or uninteresting details, for example the aging of a character. It is primarily a postmodern narrative device, named by analogy to the more traditional flashback, which reveals events that occurred in the past.

In 1916, together with his brothers-in-law Herman Gerschtanowitz and Hermann Ehrlich, he wanted to start something special in Amsterdam. "Amsterdam has many theatres, but if I build one, it should far surpass all others. Grandiose as a temple and beautiful as a palace, a theatre that is unparalleled in Europe, and will make even the pampered Amsterdam audience puff with admiration." - Abraham Tuschinski
