What has now become a feature film began five years ago as an idea during the coronavirus pandemic. Lisanne was only ten years old when she started writing. "Each time, a better version of the script emerged," she says. "I really started working on it seriously when I was thirteen."
"The ending of the film is truly moving."
"Duivinder" tells the story of two children who want to help their lonely grandfather after the loss of his grandmother. They try to find a new love for him through pigeon racing. The idea arose when Lisanne saw elderly people feeling lonely during the pandemic.
"I saw many elderly people who feel lonely," she says. "They attach great value to their pets, just like I do." Lisanne herself is crazy about racing pigeons. Her own pigeon, Dik, even plays a small role.
