In the early years of film there were no real cinemas. Film was seen as a fairground attraction. Traveling cinemas traveled from town to village to give performances at annual fairs and fairs. This happened in beautifully decorated tents or in rented café rooms. The first film showings with a traveling cinema were given in the Netherlands as early as 1896 . The entrance fee for these performances was 50 cents for the first tier and 25 cents for the second tier.
