More than 50 years ago, nature created this vast marshland in southern Flevoland. Geese, spoonbills and cormorants soon found their way to the Oostvaardersplassen, as did deer, foxes, hares, bats and butterflies. And since 2006, even the sea eagle has been breeding there. In this bird-rich marshland, man and nature work together in a special way. For example, you will encounter Heck cattle, Konik horses and red deer along the way. They keep the grasslands open in a natural way with their grazing. And they in turn also require care and management. Discover this bird-rich marshland and experience how each season has its own dynamics and surprising developments.
