A television film (or made-for-television film) is a film with a running time similar to a feature film that is produced and originally distributed by or to a terrestrial or cable television network. It is in contrast to theatrical films first shown in movie theaters, direct-to-video films released only in home video formats, and films released on or produced for streaming platforms. In certain cases, a television film may also be shown, and referred to, as a miniseries, which typically indicates that it has been divided into multiple parts or a series that contains a predetermined, limited number of episodes.

Pros and cons Location shooting has several advantages over filming on a studio set. First and foremost is that real-world locations often offer rich "authenticity" which would be very expensive to duplicate elsewhere. Unless the actual location "has fallen into disrepair", it will always look better than a set.

The film industry or motion picture industry comprises the technological and commercial institutions of filmmaking, i.e., film production companies, film studios, cinematography, animation, film production, screenwriting, pre-production, post-production, film festivals, distribution, and actors. Though the expense involved in making film almost immediately led film production to concentrate under the auspices of standing production companies, advances in affordable filmmaking equipment, as well as an expansion of opportunities to acquire investment capital from outside the film industry itself, have allowed independent film production to evolve.

Wild Motion

Filmmaking and release has become considerably easier in recent years. That's perhaps the most obvious reason. From the late 1990s onward, more and more films were shot digitally instead of on celluloid, and shortly thereafter, cinemas also switched to digital projection. This made everything much cheaper and less labor-intensive. And thanks to social media, marketing, for example, is also much cheaper. Moreover, films now have shorter runs because they quickly go to streamers. This also frees up space in cinemas.

Film scores encompass an enormous variety of styles of music depending on the nature of the films they accompany. While the majority of scores are orchestral works rooted in Western classical music, many scores are also influenced by jazz, rock, pop, blues, new-age and ambient music, and a wide range of ethnic and world music styles. Since the 1950s, a growing number of scores have also included electronic elements, and many scores written today feature a hybrid of orchestral and electronic instruments. Since the invention of digital technology and audio sampling, many modern films have been able to rely on digital samples to imitate the sound of acoustic instruments, and some scores are created and performed wholly by the composers themselves, by using music composition software, synthesizers, samplers, and MIDI controllers.

Many AI applications are not perceived as AI: "A lot of cutting edge AI has filtered into general applications, often without being called AI because once something becomes useful enough and common enough it's not labeled AI anymore

In sound and music, sampling is the reuse of a portion (or sample) of a sound recording in another recording. Samples may comprise elements such as rhythm, melody, speech, or sound effects. A sample might comprise only a fragment of sound, or a longer portion of music, such as a drum beat or melody. Samples are often layered, equalized, sped up or slowed down, repitched, looped, or otherwise manipulated. They are usually integrated using electronic music instruments (samplers) or software such as digital audio workstations.

Cinematography Simply setting up a camera and hitting record doesn’t quite cover the intricate filmmaking technique called cinematography. Cinematography, as defined by the Oxford English Dictionary, is the “art and skill of camerawork in filmmaking.” It’s the skilful capture of moving images, whether on film or digital media. Cinematographers expertly manipulate lighting, camera movements, and lens selections to capture captivating visual storytelling.

Historical drama film stories are based upon historical events and famous people. Some historical dramas are docudramas, which attempt an accurate portrayal of a historical event or biography, to the degree that the available historical research will allow. Other historical dramas are fictionalized tales that are based on an actual person and their deeds, such as Braveheart, which is loosely based on the 13th-century knight William Wallace's fight for Scotland's independence.

In the beginning, main title design consisted of the movie studio's name and/or logo and the presentation of the main characters along with the actor's names, generally using that same artwork presented on title cards.
