 A freeze frame in a film is a deliberate choice to suddenly pause on a still frame, commonly used for the last shot or when a narrator interjects for clarification or humor. While it can risk breaking the immersive experience by reminding viewers it's just a movie, strategic placement, like at the end or with a narrator, helps maintain the illusion.
